The Passage V10

Aaron Parlier, First Ascent

“Central Appalachia is a gift that keeps on giving. Every mountain backroad, ridge, holler, creek, knob and forest has a charm and mystique all of its own. Between the topography and along the creeks are towns and communities, each with a story to tell. Hidden along the outskirts of town, deep in the hollers, along those creeks and behind the rhodos you can find some truly magnificent chunks of rock for those who are so inclined to dangle from them. They take a little more work, but more times than not, that elbow grease makes the experience even sweeter. Rewind thirteen years to when I first brushed off a new hold, I felt like there were decade’s worth of new boulders to climb. Something like 2000 FAs later, I feel like several lifetimes still wouldn’t be enough.”
