The Boone’s Hardest List. 2025 Edition.
Native Grade is proudly based out of and began right here in Boone, NC. We’ve been quietly working on this project for quite a while and we couldn't be more excited to release the first edition of the Boone’s Hardest List. We’ve worked with past and current Boone climbers, past and current boulderfield developers, first ascensionists, local legends and anyone who loves to nerd out about obscure Highcountry awesomeness in general. The result is an exhaustive 12 page index of the hardest boulder problems (V8-V14) in the greater Boone region, a few words that we feel are important to the ethos of Boone Bouldering, some art and in-case-of-emergency information, and nothing else.
Keeping with the ethics of the region we provide no directions, photos, topos or beta. We hope these serve as inspiration to explore this incredible place, to speak and share stories and information with each other, and as an ever evolving index that captures the history of new and old ascents. We will continually revise with new and relevant content and update the Boone’s Hardest List annually. Enjoy!
